Funeral Guidelines
The guidelines below are prepared to assist South Asian Muslims in general. SAMAA is unable to provide specific help in funeral matters at this stage:
1. In the event the problem of post mortem /autopsy arises, contact Dr Shabbir Ahmad, Imam of Rooty Hill Mosque who has the official authority to intervene and negotiate with the relevant hospital to waive the ruling on religious grounds.

2. Regarding Funeral/burial arrangements, contact:

3. Obtain Certificate of Death – check with funeral services
4. Contact Imam of relevant mosque where the janazah(funeral) prayer is to be performed and enquiry about time of prayer and request for burial rites.
